Soluție:

Se aleg un număr \( \displaystyle a = \frac{1}{4} \in \mathbb{Q \setminus Z} \)
și un număr \( \displaystyle a * b = 9 \in \mathbb{N} \),
apoi se rezolvă ecuația
\( \displaystyle \begin{aligned} \frac{1}{4} * b & = 9 \\\ \frac{1}{4} \cdot b -5 \cdot \frac{1}{4} -5\cdot b + 30 & = 9 \\\ b -5-20\cdot b + 120 & = 36 \\\ b -20\cdot b & = 36 + 5 - 120 \\\ -19\cdot b & = -79 \\\ b & = \frac{79}{19} \in \mathbb{Q \setminus Z} \end{aligned} \)

Observație:
În cazul în care pentru \( a \in \mathbb{Q \setminus Z} \) și \( a * b \in \mathbb{N} \) alese inițial nu se obține \( b \in \mathbb{Q \setminus Z} \),
se reia procedeul schimbând una dintre valorile inițiale (sau chiar ambele valori).
