Pe $ \mathbb{R} $ se definește legea de compoziție $x * y = xy -7 x -7 y + 56 $.
Ecuația $ x * x = 8 $ are, în $ \mathbb{R} $, soluţia:

Rezolvaţi în $ \mathbb{R} $ ecuaţia $ x * x = 8 $.

Soluție:

Conform b)
are loc egalitatea $ x * y = (x-7)(y -7) + 7 $, $ \forall x, y \in \mathbb{R} $,
deci
$ \displaystyle \begin{aligned} x * x & = (x-7)(x -7) + 7 = \\\ & = (x-7)^2 + 7, \end{aligned}$

iar ecuația devine:

$ (x-7)^2 + 7 = 8 $
$ (x-7)^2 = 1 $
$ x-7 = \pm 1 $

$ \displaystyle \begin{aligned} x-7& = 1 \qquad \qquad & x-7& = -1 \\\ x & = 8 & x & = 6 \end{aligned}$
